Perch Stand Making

I went out today and trimmed some branches to make some perches, ladders and toys.

here are some pics of some unique shaped Stand Perches before and after

the left are before is when I took the bark off of them
the right are after is when I put a torch to them
they still need platform and some other stuff.

This branch is so cool
I will turn it flat and place it on top of a tripod stand so that all the sections and laying flat and the parrot will have different sections to hang around.

This one will be a upright natural perch for my parrots to perch and play on, will also be trimmed and have toys on it.

here is another like the above, but with top and bottom branches.

I know these are not completed yet, but once I cut tree branched, I usually scrap the bark off and let sit around for a few weeks to cure

These I decided to use a torch to kill any bugs or other, plus give it a unique look.

I will finish these in about a week or two. Depending on how the look and feel when cured.

This is my work area where I was scraping off the bark, plus you can see that I also have a pile of nice shaped flat branch to make some tee training perches. and a pile for the base of the perches.

OK so like any toy maker, I changed my mind for the two natural tree branch perches. I decided to attach them onto the outside of her cage extending up to my 10 foot ceiling.

Oh and to top it off it sounded like she was saying hello? not totally sure, but sure did sound like she was? Hope so :)

What a character my Quaker is, here I am using a power drill to put a hole in the bottom of the wooden perch branch so I can put a zip tie through it, and she is being my little inspector lol

Following! I am currently doing the same as you for my Meyers. They're bleaching in the sun for the next 3-4 days and then I can assemble for bird gymnastics!
