my keyboard is in pieces! Rani is in trouble for sure

Rani is just learning to fly to us and hang out with us.... I went to the grocery store for about 30 mins while hubby was home. He decides to go in the back yard and starts cutting grass. He forgot to lock Rani down in the cage. I come home with bags of groceries and look at her cage and she is not there..... I freak out and drop the bags and run around the house looking for her...... Guess what she is sitting in my husbands office on top of the laptop and all the keys are on the floor....... She knew exactly at the minute that i was upset, I put her in the cage and she starts to make her normal sounds but super slow..... When i tell her Rani you are a bad girl today dont talk to me...She would stop making noise for a few minutes and then start again slowly.... I left her alone for about 30 mins in the cage and i noticed she wanted to come out so she would jump on the cage floor and come close to the glass front and try and make funny faces at me... It was totally funny...Ofcourse i did not want to give in and smile lol... Now i have a ziploc bag full of keyboard keys

Its amazing how they know what they are not supposed to do. I know when Merlin is quiet, I better run to check what he is doing. When is in timeout, he'll start saying "be a good bird", he knows what buttons to push to get his way.

i'd save the keys an make a toy outta them for her!!

Oh Chico has done this to me! I was so mad. He was just sitting on the keyboard, and I yelled, "CHICO, What did you do?" He said back, "Chico, Chico, step up, good boy." Eh. He also ripped all the keys off one of my cell phones. Oh the things you do.

I think I would cry a little if my bird destroyed my laptop.... take comfort in the fact you arent the first this has happened too there are a couple posts in the funny stories thread about the same thing happening. Silly birds....

I'm giving Lucy her own computer to play with O.O I'm going to gut a computer tower and clean it up real good and maybe gut an old monitor and let her play in the casing... and giver her her own keyboard LOL

lol same here! I just gutted my last computer and just have the case lieing about so I made it into a play gym lol

Hello, I found Jack had done exactly the same thing. My young son thought he was doing theright thing by taking him to have a fly around whilst I was at work. He didnt kn ow that they need to be supervised. I came home and here is Jack happily eating my laptop and son was in another room watching telly.
Only a couple of keys were left.
I was able to replace the whole keyboard pad for under $20 on ebay, had to do this twice now. I have photos on here some place showing what he did.
I have a dell laptop and it was very easy to replace the keyboard pad , under $20, it should be salvagable.

Thank GOD. The laptop was a company laptop and they replaced it.

Rani is starting to fly a lot now. Today for the first time she flew into the kitchen and wanted to hang out with us there. I am happy that she is atleast trying to socialize with us now after a year.

What kind flight harness do you guys use. I am thinking of getting her a flight harness. She has no sense of direction but i want her to learn how to fly.
