hi,

I'm in the process of purchasing a 3 months old male. my plan is to set the cage in one of the bedrooms in the house due to space limitations.
i know the cage supposed to be in a center spot where the bird could feel involved in the daily house routine and feel a part of the family.
my plan is that the bird will be out of the cage as long as there are people in the house, my intention is to put him in the cage during work hours and at night.
so... i want to hear your opinion about this arrangement, i know it's not the ideal setup but it's the best i can do and i wish to provide the bird a happy life, so your thoughts are important :)

I would recomend your bird's sleeping location being in a quiet place, and during the day being in a high traffic area would be good. I have seen posts from people who seem to do this with two cages, but I believe that constant time out of his cage would work as well for the high traffic area. Be prepared for poos on your shirt.

flight suit i guess :)
anyway my intention is to have a stand with toys on wheels to roll around the house to which ever room the people will be in. so the bird won't be alone while not playing with someone.. good enough to ease my mind about?

I roll Merlins cage between the bedroom (his sleep location) & the dining room, (daytime). I've often thought of a playstand for him to sit on instead of all the moving. If your bird loves the playstand & is comfortable, it should work. Is he going to be fully flighted? If so, he will find the places he likes to sit & all your plans will be for not. lol They actually train us.

yup cage on wheels or 2 cages is best!

nut has a main cage in main room of the house, an a sleep cage that we put her into to transport her up an down stairs, she has spare bed room, even her main cage move locations during the day, against side wall after tea, but always in the front window during the day

as for a perch, still lookin at hubs at makin 1 but she like to perch on curtain rail lol
