here he is! Hatched 1/4/12
he will be ready mid april! i am so excited and i am looking forward to all the pictures and updates!
The breeder i mentioned told me to get in touch with someone who had one available in florida that ships. He was 150 cheaper even with shipping and i will get the travel cage. She highly recommended him and his reviews were great! I hope you dont mind if i keep posting the updates i get from him!
And thank you all again for all your help and information!

We are considering the name Rocky, any opinions?

What a little sweetie, I bet you can hardly wait! Of course you should post pics and updates!

I do actually know a bird named Rocky, but no, it's not a name you hear all the time. The one I know is a Grey and belongs to a lady who works in the office of one of my doctors.

My husband said if thats his name he would be constantly doing "Rocky" movie lines for him in hopes he picks up a few :/
But knowing my husband, he would do that with a bunch of movies regardless of a name lol

I think I speak for a lot of others here that we like hearing about everyone else's birds and seeing pics. And I think we get almost as excited about a new bird as it's owner. And we feel bad when someone's bird is sick.

I appreciate the warm welcomes :) I am very happy to be finally owning a bird of my own! I have had dreams of owning a parrot since i was about 8. I was the kid who wanted to visit the pet store everyday to see the macaws!
I'm just a little nervous about the shipping thing. I havent been to the airport in over 10 yrs and i have never picked anything up at one, not to mention having that little guy take the trip!

Im sure im just being nuts though, i know a lot of people pick up pets from the airport.
I am so happy to be able to start sharing stories and offering help from experience soon! This is a wonderful forum!

Congrats on the new baby!!! I personally like to view the bird in person to check for healthiness and make my own selection. BUT a good breeder could choose the right baby for the right family by knowing what they're looking for. Cause I choose babies for families and there hasn't been one complaint. :)

Don't worry about shipping, It's very safe & the airline company takes good care of the animals. When we ship (freight) in Australia, depend on where the bird is from they could be in their little box from 6 hours to overnight. They cope very well.

Aww Pedro, thanks! i would love to see your pics! i have no idea when mine will be comming through. Still checking almost every free second i have! i am really interested in seeing the growing stages of an eclectus. I am missing out on the weeks of bonding, but from what the reviews said, the babys are already very social and have a very easy transition into the home.

He comes insured and with a health guarantee if seen by a vet within 72 hours. I have been looking around and have a vet in mind, so we are good there. And he will be use to his travel carrier and a bit older so i wont be so nervous about our vacation.

Yes i can understand that Mikey, new parrot owner don't really have a clue what to look for, they usually believe what the breeder tells them. However Sadie could ask what guarantee's this breeder has in place if the unforeseen happens. Like the baby should be sick on arrival.

I have a guarantee in place for 2 weeks up to a month. That includes if they change their mind or the parrot doesn't work out. I have only ever had 1 of my eclectus babies returned at no fault of the birds, as soon as they got him home the phone calls started, he's bitting us & screaming at us, I told them what they were doing wrong, after 2 weeks of daily calls, i bought my bird back. I also told them to never buy a parrot again.

You are an excellent and very caring breeder.
