I am very happy to say that Mimi is starting to talk to us. She has just been moved so she is with the other birds. She is still fearful of us. She shakes if we get to close. I stand next to her and talk to her until she stops shaking. She will step up on a White towel. Hopefully she will learn some trust. I really am having trouble getting her to eat fesh food. She ate some boil egg but that is about it. I am truely worried about her diet. We offer her fresh food daily. Any ideas?

Often birds will not recognize large pieces of vegetables as food. Also, it's not sweet like fruit. Try cutting the veggies up into tiny pieces. Also, try mixing the veggies & fruit together into a kind of mash. Sounds disgusting to us, but, most birds love that. You could also make cornbread mixed with veggie baby food. Most of my birds have usually eaten that without much fuss. The idea is to trick them into eating the vegs without knowing it.

Sounds like Mimi is heading in the right direction! I look forward to reading about her progress. Here's a website I found helpful about fussy eaters:

I did the corn bread with the baby food mixed in for my Blue Crown conure, who only seemed to want fruit and corn. Sometimes she ate broccoli as well, but the only way to get orange veggies in her was the cornbread.

She seems to only eat her seed. I have only once gotten her to eat birdbread. Thank you for the ideas.
