It appears Puffin fancies himself as a judge on The Voice. He has spent the last few nights perched on his favourite stand watching The Voice and we can tell who he likes because he lets out a " wow" and if he doesn't like someone ( usually the rockers) we get a "what!" and he turns his back on them!

If it happened once or twice I would have said it was just a coincidence but he does it all the time! I know he has always liked music and has always shown a preference for R&B or soul over rock but this has just blown me away.

Do any of your Fids act the same when music shows are on?

I haven't actually played a lot of music around Merlin, which is quite unusual for me. My budgie Wonsy used to LOVE music. We had to leave it playing for her whenever we left and she would twitter along and dance. :)

What I find amazing about what he does is the words he is using. I understand the "wow" because my husband and I often say that when a really good singer comes on tv and we watch a lot of music shows so I get him saying "wow" when he hears someone he likes but the "what" and turning his back is the one that cracks me up. I guess maybe we have made comments like "what on earth makes them think they can sing" and I also tend to leave the room to make a cuppa if the singer isn' great but I don't think it is something we have done often enough for him to copy.

Bode really likes the dance beat that plays in the beginning of the 'The Ellen Show.' If it is on the TV he pauses what he is doing to dance it up with Ellen - then he goes back to his day! He is definitely a critic of my musical selection if I have an iPod jacked into a sound dock. If he doesn't like it he makes this growling noise until I chance. If he likes he dances!

My Budgies LOVE music. They sing to it and dance around their cages. Occasionally my Dusky will whistle to music and sing with it. All of the birds love when my brother plays Rock Band. They'll be totally quiet and as soon as they hear the game start up they start making happy noises. Once he starts playing some songs they all go nuts! The house ends up being so loud between him and the birds! He always plays the game quite loudly and the birds compete with it and get louder if he gets louder.

my indian ringneck solo is also quite the music critic- if he likes the song he will bob his head and say good boy and if he doesnt like it he will scream and bark like the dogs

Loki (GCC) Sugar (Goffins)
That's hilarious!

Loki has a preference for Adult rock (90's music mostly, like Counting Crows and such) and Singer/Songwriters (Sarah McLachlan, Coldplay, etc) just like me. He HATES hard rock, and strongly dislikes R&B, Country, and Techno/Electronica. We can tell from the noises he makes whether he likes something, LOVES something or despises it.

We haven't gotten Sugar home yet (just days left to go now!) but my Husband thinks she's going to be in to Dubstep. This does not make me happy.
