I dont think a sip will hurt her. OJ probably isnt the best on a regular basis due to the preservatives/sugar/etc. Luna has snuck in a few sips of my OJ or fruit juice and she is fine. :)

If you made it, it's healthy, and would be advisable to share.

If it's store bought then avoid sharing. That stuff has a chemical cocktail in it called a flavor pack. The flavor pack is usually manufactured by a perfume company and is the reason that all Minute Maid orange juice looks and tastes the same.

My avian vet told me it is best not to give our bird citrus juices because of the high acid content. Try carrot juice instead.

What is the best juices to mix with pellets when weaning them off seeds? I want to add a little warm juice to the pellets in the beginning to entice her to eat the pellets.

We work with much older Parrots and I do not have a strong background with chicks. Because of the high sugar load, I really would stay away from adding a juice. When we are recouping from an illness, we will use warm water mix base to hand feed.

With a self-starving bird, anything to get them eating again.
