So I placed a deposit on a male vos ekkie about a month ago, his hatch date was 1/21/12. The time is getting closer, and I'm getting very excited. The breeder told me she doesn't force weaning so I'm patiently waiting for her to tell me he is ready! Also my breeder is not in the same state as me so she will be shipping him, I am certainly nervous about the entire process I have never had an animal shipped or picked one up at an airport. I discussed my apprehension with the breeder before I even placed a deposit and she told me all kinds of reassuring things, but I won't be ok until he is here safe and healthy. I am new to the "Parrot Forums" but not new to parrot ownership I have a 10 year old quaker (Kiku) that I have had her entire life. She is a bit of a terror more times then not, but I love her to pieces even if she tears me to pieces! Anyways I remember seeing a female eclectus in a pet store when I was little and thinking that is the most beautiful bird I have ever seen, and then I saw the male eclectus and that was it I was fascinated. I knew one day I would have one. Now that day has come and I am just beyond excited. My husband is even excited, Kiku is not a big fan of my husband, so he is excited to have a parrot he can grow with and interact with as well. Now that I have rambled on I will post a picture of my new baby the most recent one I have is from late March early April all my other pictures of him are videos the breeder sent me. Also we are still debating on names Tobi, Beans, or Howie. Leaning more towards Tobi, I love Beans but it doesn't end in that "ee" sound Beansie? lol
