Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I've been thinking about getting a Eclectus for the last 3 years. My father was a bird lover so I grew up with many birds, including finches, lovebirds, cockatiels, and a tamed Congo African Grey. I haven't had any birds for the last 10 years. Now my children are all going to school fulltime, I thought perhaps it's time for me to get a new baby. After all the research I've decided on a male Solomon Island Eclectus. I haven't had much luck finding a breeder in the Pacific NW. I really worry about having the baby shipped and would rather drive to pick it up. I'm in south central WA and am willing to drive 3-4 hours each way to pick it up. Any suggestion is welcome. Thank you!

Ya know, I just had a baby (his beak was still black, and he wasn't quite stead on a perch yet) in my hands on Friday ... he was such a love ... so cute! Eekies are great birds, so colorful and just great companions, that's a very good choice ...

I know that there are many great rescues in the Pacific North West ... isn't Mollywood out there? Have you ever considered a rescue or a rehab/rehome? I'll see what I can come up with you for breeders, I know that if you pick up a copy of Birdtalk magazine there is a bunch of listings by state ... that's a place to start anyway.

I'm about 2.5 hours from Spokane and actually go there pretty often. I'd appreciate the shop name. Are they reputable? Thanks!

Blue Front Amazon (Petrie), Indian Ringneck (Wasabi), and Eclectus (Milo). RIP (Fuji) Slender Billed Conure.
I also live in the Pac. NW and I actually I recently acquired my Eclectus from Craigslist!
But I live in North Western Washington, although I know of a store in Everett called Apollo's Birds.
Very knowledgable lady, and she sells her birds vaccinated and with a full years guarantee.
I was thinking about purchasing her Solomon Eclectus male just recently until I found my boy, Milo.
