Nikita - Red Sided Eclectus
I think I have created my own problem. When Nikita started to scratch around at the bottom of her cage, I wanted to be kind to her so place a nice soft blanket in the corner. Little did I know that is the start of her hormonal period.

She is now 2 year old and I am still healing her back to normal after a very unhappy previous home.

She is now constantly "lying" at the bottom of her cage in the corner. She will come to me when called but refuse to come out of her cage. She keep on nibbling my fingers but does not bite. 3 Months ago she laid her first egg. I keep on removing it as I don't want her to go into the nesting mood.

With all the above she is also now starting to pull her feathers out after 5months of recovery not doing that at all.

Please help!! :red1:

I do NOT consider myself a pro at this situation but maybe you could try putting some chewing/ shreading toys( finger traps, wicker balls) in the cage bottom where she is doing this at to simply distract her. If this advice is wrong someone correct me.
