I've noticed ziggy wont leave me alone she loves her cage but will not go in her cage this morning she has fresh food clean water toys and everything she needs in there its a big cage and usually she is more than happy to go in and play but today she wont get off my shoulder i could even get her off to go to the toilet! she is determined to stay with me and every time i talk to her she tries to put her beak in my mouth and she does this little weird head bobbing thing and when i dont let her she does this quiet little call, sound like she is saying oh. She isnt trying to bite me because if she was i think she would have done so by now.
also last night i was playing on the ground with my dog and she came down to join us like she normally does but last night she was on my back and wouldnt stop flapping her wings. it was like she was trying to fly away but just stayed in the one place. both zig n my dog get along well, she throws him food and he chases away birds that go near her during the day when she is ouside. so its not like they hate each other.
does anyone know what it means? ive tried to find out what it is on the net and in my ekkie book but all i can get is wing flipping or whatever its called but she isnt doing that?
:D

It sounds to me like she is trying to feed you! This is mating behavior. =P

Yes, head bobbing is a regurgitative gesture, she is trying to feed you, mating behavior, she has chosen you as her 'mate'. Wing flapping is more excitement I would think? Anyone else have any thoughts on the wing flapping? My boy eckie wing flaps when I first get home from work, I always thought it kent he was happy to see me?

My girl wing flaps (not flips). I notice this behavior in the early morning and at night. In the morning she does it I believe for excitement. She knows my routine so when she sees me she knows i am going for coffee in a few minutes she is on perch by her bowl and she flaps her wings and starts talking. She stops when i return with her food and water bowls.

I noticed when my girl is on a talking spree she gets excited especially when i am talking back she will open the wings and intentionally flap them she does it at night as well she likes to talk alot before bed time

Ony my girl i dont think her wing flapping is hormonal I notice she does it alot, when i play music dancing with her or when she is talking and I laugh at her while she is on her jabber spree. I think she is showing off LOL

My girl does the wing flapping, she will sit on her cage door and flaps her wings and the cage door opens and closes. It is her way of excersizing her wings, as she is clipped and cant fly for excersize. As for the beak in mouth, I dont allow it anymore. My girl used to do it, but the vet said our mouth germs can be fatal for our birds.

REALLY!!!!???
what do i do?
is this normal she is only 9 months old is this too early?

I adopted Sunshine and was told he was only 5 months old, he does the same thing to me, I am confused also if he is too young, or perhaps in my case I was mis-informed and he is actually older than I was told...

Maybe at this young age they show these 'love' signs, but when it actually comes down to it they are too young to actually mate. Im not sure, maybe someone else will be more helpful with this. :)

thank you so much everyone!!!
i was just a little confused and i didnt know how to take it. I've noticed she does do the wing flapping thing when she sees a family member or friend of mine she likes. so i guess in her case it is excitement, and she is also excited about playing with me n beau (the dog)
:)
