i might have found tucker!

so i just recently joined a group on facebook called bird lovers of michigan. just for more insight. and if some of you have read some of my other posts i had a pair of eclectus, i had to rehome. well i think maybe, just maybe. i might have found my male ekkie named tucker. :11: there are a few things that don't add up though. 1. they say he's two and my tucker should be 10 to 11 years by now. and 2. their tucker is missing a toe. my tucker wasn't missing any toes when i had to rehome him but who's to say it didn't happen afterwards. and what if the person who had tuck, rehomed him also and lied about his age just so somebody would buy him. if somebody truly knows about birds knows that 10 years is still very young for a parrot like him. i am waiting to see what the person responds with. i told them what some of his band should say and the things he used to do. plus tucker had a vitamin a deficiency , no thats not the reason why i rehomed him but his toes would tap if he didn't stay on a high vitamin a diet. maybe thats how he lost a toe, and got it stuck on something. if it's him i am going to try my hardest to get my baby boy back and for good. his mommy misses his butt and wishes she never let him go. i hate myself for it :17:. please don't judge, some people actually do learn from their mistakes. i wish i never did what i did, especially with his needs. :02:

Congrats on (maybe) finding your boy! However, I think you should rethink trying to "get him back" if it really is Tucker. If he is happy, well loved, and well cared for then why not allow him to bring joy to his new people? In my mind removing him from his new family, would simply be a bit mean to him and his new folks. If you found him on a bird group then I believe that it can be assumed that his current owners really care for him, and most likely he is apart of their family. And I know that if someone who had owned Kippy before me, came and "tried their hardest" to get her back (ergo taking away my friend) I would feel an incredible amount of hostility towards them.

I do not believe that it would be wise, fair, or kind to Tucker or his family to "try your hardest to get him back into your life," assuming that he is loved and cared for. However, perhaps his new family would be willing to let you reunite with Tucker for a visit?

I would be hesitant about "doing all you can to get him back". I know it's difficult, I've been there, but if he's happy and his new owners are happy, even if it's really the Tucker you had. If everyone is happy, leave them be.

I can say this because I've been crying over my Grey's that I also had to rehome. It's a long story as to why, but I've always regretted it. Especially Azure, who was my husband and mine's baby, the first thing we ever got together. Her hatchday is our exact wedding day, including year. I miss her terribly. My Sugar reminds me so much of her that I often cry, wondering how she is. But the last I heard, her new owners adored her and she was doing well. I have to keep myself from trying to contact them, because it would just open new wounds. So take some advice, and rethink it over. A lot.

I hope you did find him! I gave up a Sun Conure I found as a baby after a hurricane hit and we were doing damage control I loved her so much and miss her every day and hate myself for giving her up!!! I would absolutely love to have her back but I think if I found her family I wouldnt take her back as long as she has a loving home. I wouldnt take her back because if she had a good home with people who love her and she adjusted to ehr life with them I wouldnt want to take her form the family that now loves her and she would have become adjusted to her new life and I wouldnt want to mess her life or her new family life up either I dont think you should try and get him back but maybe you could try and visit him and his new family!

No judgment here! But I think some people here are right, it wouldn't be fair to the other family to take Tucker back. Especially if he and the family are happy. If you think he is being mistreated, that is another story. Maybe just mention to these people that you would love to take him if he is too much for them to handle. Or something along those lines. Just let them know if they ever want to give him up that your arms are open. But you must be careful not to cross any boundaries. They may take this conversation the wrong way. Hope this helps.

im not offended at all. but the people are trying to sell him, he looks like he's in a good home also. and if they weren't trying to sell him i wouldn't try, because i agree with you that said that it wouldn't be fair. but this is not the case. for what ever the reason, they are trying to find him a good home. i am sorry for the miss understandings, i should have been a bit more thorough with the post.

Just curious, what makes you think he is tucker? I really hope he is, it would be amazing

i am not too certain it is tucker, i guess i just hope with everything in me that he is my tucker. but unfortunately, even though i do want to get him, i don't have the money at the moment for tuck. i think what i was more worried about was if he was ok and doing fine and actually had a good loving home. i think my emotions ran a little wild there for a minute and forgot that i was broke and had no cash. but all i really really care about is to know that he's doing alright. it would have been so great to know that he's my tucker and he did find a good home. but you know how some people claim to have that maternal instinct? that's kinda how i felt when i found him. i found my baby and nothing's going to stop me from getting him back. but now that my emotions have settled down and im calmer about the subject i realize yea not having any money will slow a person down, and what if he isn't even your tucker, other people out there can name a bird tucker as well. so right now at this point i just wish it was him and to know that he was alright. can't blame a person for acting upon something they truly loved. just for a possibility that it actually may or may not be the one. curiosity can definitely kill somebody.
