Yep mung beans are safe and very nutritious for birds. Nalani gets a mixture of sprouts daily and in it, there are mung beans 
.

Mung Bean is very healthy for parrot, Ozzie loves it! It have lots of vitamin and mineral! Ozzie gets sprout mix everyday with mung beans in it, and has had no problem.
