eclectus bed?

Do eclectus like to sleep standing up or would they prefer a happy hut, or cozy corner? I have only ever read that they like to sleep standing up on the highest perch...and he does for the most part. But my Conures Love cuddleing up in their happy hut...and they are so CUTE doing it. So I was wondering would my ekkie like that...or would he just tare it up?

since joining here I have been paying a lot more attention to my birds...and I am glad. Cause now I have a place to tell the stories to. The birds also seem to love the extra playtime I give them...go figure. so now, I'm just trying to think of things that will make their nights a little more comfy...

Happy Huts are cheap enough that it wouldn't hurt to try it out and give him the option.

I've never had an Ekkie, but I suspect this is more of an individual temperament/preference than a species typical issue.

If you do try it out I'd suggest letting him see the conures in theirs, or lure him into his once or twice. If it's just a weird new thing in his cage it may not be immediately obvious what he's supposed to do with it. If he starts thinking it is a toy to shred it will be harder to change his mind on that later.

He is literally RIGHT next to the conures. They all tollerate each other, but only while in the respective cages. Once out and together (much less in each others cages) they will fight...but only my sun conure, and the ekkie. So he sees them use their happy hut all the time...but I just don't know if he would WANT to sleep laying down. it seems a little unnatural considdering that I see him sleeping on one foot with his head on his back all the time. That's why I was wondering if the "cozy Corner" thing would be better...giving him one sleeping spot at the top corner of the cage...

If I don't hear from anyone on this in the next day or two (when I get paid) then I'm going to have to test it for myself...and see how he takes to it.

well I got him a happy hut last night...and so far no response...But I'm going to keep watching him. He hasn't torn it apart so that's at least something...he isn't just playing with it like a toy.
