Does anyone take their ekkies on trips, such as with a travel trailer or RV? We like to take weekend trips to trailer camp and can't see any reason not to include Riley in the fun. Can anyone recommend an approprite sized cage for two to three day excursions?
Thanks

My birds LOVE to travel. Are you kidding? If they were children, they would be the first ones with their travel bags packed and waiting out in the car yelling "ARE WE THERE YET". But, you must be aware of the heat and not venture off for long while they are left in the travel trailer unless you have air conditioning and it's left on for them.

I've done it with 4 of mine. In fact Lucy and her clutchmate hatched in our fifth wheel trailer near Quartzite AZ in Feb 2009. We found cages that had wide bar spacing, a large door but where small enough to fit in the trailer. With the adventure of travel and everyone being close together the birds don't mind being in smaller cages for a while, especially if they spend time out of their cages each day. We have a king cab truck though so the cages can ride in the back seat while we are driving then we move them into the trailer when we stop. With one bird I might get a larger cage and leave it set up in the trailer, then use a travel cage in the vehichle while underway. Now if you have a motorhome you don't have to move the cage from vehicle to trailer of course.

I know lots of people who RV with their birds.

Thanks all. Very encouraging. Riley already loves car rides and will hop into his carrier without hesitation because he knows he's going to get to travel!
We have full heat and air conditioning in our trailer, so that should not be a problem.
Wow sodakat, hatched in the trailer? Thats awesome!! I bet not many birds can make that claim!
