Hi Everyone!
I was lining the bottom of Oliver's cage with South Florida Pets newsletters featuring a parrot on the front cover but ignored it for weeks (My husband brought home tons of them). So, without paying attention, I kept lining his cage until one day I thought heck there's a picture of a bird like mine I should read the article. It was then I learned about a bird lovers club that meets every third Sunday of the month encouraging attenders to bring their bird(s)! I got so excited and babbled about it to anyone who would listen. Well, here's where the problem begins, Charlie, the breeder I bought Oliver from, got real upset when I told him I was going with Oliver. He warned me NOT to bring Oliver--that not all the birds that attend are healthy and that Oliver will be dead within 24 hours if he picks something up at the event. Shoot! He popped my bubble. I was so psyched to go to a bird outing with Oliver and others of like mind--kind of like a "play date." Anyway, Charlie said go but without Oliver and then instructed I take ALL my clothes off in the garage asap before entering my home to avoid spreading germs. What do you guys think about this? Is he overreacting? Do you go to outings with your feathered kids? I am so not a social bug and I thought this would be a way for me to get out some and for Oliver as well...
