Finally broke down and bought one... 229.00 on amazon. Appears to be made nicely.

That's a great deal! It looks big with him sitting on it.

that looks awesome! what does you eclectus think of it so far?
You can do a lot of cool things with the java perches, add extra perches, add toys, add vet wrap(java wood is slippery, vet wrap supplies a good grip), natural bird safe branches, all sorts of things. I LOVE my java perch so much, I bought mine at mysafebirdstore(Rosie's is also a medium) since they were the only place I could fine that showed the exact perch you would be getting, and were a awesome price too. With Rosie's bad leg I had to pick a simple perch, to make sure she could move around safety.

here are two pics of Rosie's to give you some ideas. The longer you have your awesome new java perch, the more ideas you'll think of to make it fun. I added a extra perch for Rosie's, it's a awesome swing I just don't have a good spot for(yet!), I add various toys, natural branches, and I use vet wrap that is easily changed out when dirty. Try new things, and see what your eccie responds to the best :)

You can use perches, or natural branches to extend from the perch, makes it a lot of fun(especially if it's chewable)

So far he is really enjoying it. I have it right next to his cage right now... He goes back forth... Really testing (biting) everything. I will add some more fun to it some.
