I got her at 2 weeks old. She will be 2 years old on June 21st 2014. She weaned and eats Zupreme pellets just fine. Fruity kind. As well as fruits and veggies. Starting a few months ago she started getting green "Spots" on her back. She does not pluck and her behavior has not changed. Could she have liver problems? Is something wrong? Or does this happen?:52:
Her name is Zoe.

Colored pellets are very bad for eclectus, pellets should make up a very small potion of her diet and even then most people feed either Harrison's or TOPS because it is organic and not colored. 75 to 85% of her diet should be fresh organic fruits and veggies. Mis-colored feathers are often a sign of incorrect diet and should be addressed right away.

Harrisons what? Is it a pellet? A seed mix? Not familiar with it.

Hello and welcome!
Harrison's is a pellet. My ekkie only gets a tablespoon of pellets and a tablespoon of seeds for his over night and everything else is fresh throughout the day:)
I agree with labell that the colour change could be diet related. You might want to have her checked out by an avian vet to just be on the safe side:)
She is a beautiful girl, what is her name?

Thanks! Her name is Zoe. I have Indian Ringnecks and they've always been on supreme with no problems. Searching on amazon prime as we speak for the pellets

Harrison's and TOP's (totally organic pellets) are both pellets. I also offer a small amount of Volkman's seed mix that is specifically for eclectus. You really want to stay away from artificial colors and additives with eclectus. If you go to the website "Land Of Vos" there are great ideas of what is the proper diet for eclectus. I encourage you to get her off the colored pellets as soon as you can.

The diet of eclectus are very specialized and very different than other parrots. They have a longer digestive tract. Please look into the proper diet for your girl, the mis-colored feathers are just the first sign. Liver damage, feather plucking, toe tapping and wing flapping can all become more serious signs of feeding the wrong foods to your eclectus.

Not the high potency the lifetime course is better if you go with Harrison's. I would also look at TOP's. Also the fine is really tiny mine prefer the course. Again though the pellets are something i give very little of. Maybe 8 to 10 pieces per bird at night with a small amount of the Volkman's seed for eclectus. Most of the diet needs to be fresh foods.
