Hey!

I was shopping at Dollarama today picking up some things and I saw a couple of bird toys. I was skeptical but bought two anyway (they were only $2) with the plan of asking about them here.

(See attached photos)

I can't tell what they're dyed with...it looks pretty dark. Also when I got home I noticed on the back it says "do not allow your pet to chew..."

Wanted to ask just to be sure!

What's the point of a toy that can't be chewed??? Pippi would not understand :)

They look pretty nice, but I'm fairly paranoid about stuff like this so I don't think I'd use them. It's your call, though.

Probably would avoid using this. Recommend only purchases from reliable "Bird shops" that you know.

Sounds good, thank you for your input! Do you think it's safe to keep the white rope and throw out the wooden balls, or chuck it all?

Most likely, it's a warning over potential splinters/threads (which all wood and rope toys have), but as they are from the dollar store, I'd probably return or pitch them. Always better safe than sorry, since you never know what a vague warning like that is warning against.

While we're discussing toys, I was wondering if anyone else knows of good websites to buy from (preferably within Canada to avoid duty/expensive shipping)? I have found a bunch of stuff from Parrotdise Perch brings you Unique Parrot Toys | Bird Cages | Bird Toys | Bird Toy Parts | Parrot Perches | Organic Bird Foods | Goldenfeast | Harrison's Bird Foods | Nutriberries | Totally Organic Bird Food | Zupreem | Higgins | Pine Nuts that I plan on buying.

Unfortunately in Montreal there isn't a Petsmart (I just moved from Ottawa). Unless I go back home and have a chance to shop there, I really don't know what's around here.

Any help would be appreciated :) Ty
