I know bonding is good, but I am starting to worry that drogo is getting just a little too bonded to me..... he is getting territorial and if anyone touches me while he is on me he tries to bite them.... I want him to have a good relationship with my husband also (who is now scared of him) He isn't attacking him or anything but they need to bond....

So my question is, how do i keep him from really mate bonding to me... but still love me, and

How do i get him to like other people in the household?

I do all of his care.

It's not going to be a quick process.....maybe the best way would be for you are going to step back interaction wise & hubby will need to fill that void, along with taking over the feeding and especially in the giving of treats.....at this point you're the chosen one, so you have to show drogo that you are displeased with his actions/nipping/biting.....

My female Patagonian definitely prefers men, but will not go to strangers, men or otherwise, unless I place her on their arms.....she has never bitten anyone I've put her on, but I don't take a chance by putting her on just anyone either.....

Part of your problem may be your husband's concern/fear of getting bit....companion birds can sense fear and often exploit it to their own benefit...it has to be you who intercedes, with sharp nos and to pick him up and put him in time-out...they very much want the approval of their flock mates, especially their chosen ones.....

Good luck.....
