Hey Guys. I rescued a male eccy from a breeder. He's plucked all his body feathers and some on his wings. He isn't tame but I'm in the process of changing that. I know that he's come from a stressed environment and he had a poor diet.

Any tips on changing his feather plucking?

He's desperate to breed and I have a female. Would it be a good idea to wait until he's healthy before I even introduce them? Or would it help him if they sat in seperate cages but could see each other?

If I'm not mistaken, it's the females that make the family decisions for this specie.....

No thanks so much! It's what im doing though. I've changed his diet to fruit and veg and added a heap of branches for him to chew on and will be getting him toys this week.

I'm just not sure whether to keep him totally seperate and unaware of the female until he has all his feathers back. I only got him a- because of his condition and b- a companion for my female to talk to.
