Jasper (6yr old Solomon Island Eclectus Parrot)
Jasper is a chatterbox (baby talk of course) but I SWEAR I've heard him say "hello" and "good boy" a few times. Not super clear but enough that I could make it out (and the "tune" of how I say it).

Can't wait until he's talking :D :D He'll be 9 months next week. Is it possible already? Or maybe I'm just crazy :D

Absolutely I have had them talk before 7 months. He is just one of those that has saved it all up, now one day he will just bust out with all the stuff he knows!

I think Mango started talking about 7- 8 months. His first word (s) was "tickle tickle".:) Was about the time he started surfing the net!:D

Bixby's brother did everything early. Hatching, weaning, perfect preening... and talking. Sir Chomps, as he was affectionately known at the bird store, was talking by 4 months! Might even have been earlier, as I only saw him 2-3 times a week while visiting Bixby.

Go, Jasper! Hope you can catch that on video, too!

He was definitely talking :). Ekkies are one of the species known to be talented talkers.

Gizmo - Male Eclectus Parrot

Pebbles - Female Eclectus Parrot
Katie,

Sounds like he is just ironing out the creases and will be saying some clear words shortly. I can sense the excitement you have, with the prospect of him saying his first words, I just know it is going to be a great moment for you when he says his first clear word.

Gizmo's most memorable word for me was "Good Boy". We were teaching him to fly to us on command, and I would say in a super enthusiastic voice "Good Boy". A few weeks later, he flew to me, landed, stood up straight and in the clearest of voices said "Good Boy". He must have been practicing in private, I was so proud of him, and based on his body language, I think he was pretty proud of himself:D

Cheers,

Cameron
