This morning Mang was eating atop his cage. I was eating at the table listening to music, enjoying the view outside. Then noticed, Mango wasn't on his cage:confused:. Didn't hear him fly off, asked Gage my son, if Mango was with him in the back room. Nope. That's when I went around the house looking for him while the whole time, he was on the counter EATING BUTTER my wife left out this morning!
Now, I always hear Mango's flying until today. So either I wasn't paying attention to him, or he developed stealth technology. Either way, I am really concerned about his curiosity and my inability to hear him flying anymore. :(
Also, really concerned about the amount of butter he ate. Wife's at work and isn't sure how much was left. At most he ate 1/2 tbsp.
What, other than clogging his ateries:mad:, should I watch for? Could this shorten his lifespan? He is behaving normally.

That small amount may make him poop funny for a day or so but milk fat won't kill him or do any long term damage as long as it isn't often . There are some people who feed small amounts of cheese to their parrots though I don't recommend it. You will need to get a good heavy covered butter dish. We had to do that AND put it in the cupboard my Standard Poodle who loves butter has been known to eat a whole stick if he can get to it!
