I am not a morning person, don't talk to me until I've had at least one cup of coffee. If you have feathers, that is a an exception to that rule.

Venus and Buddy's cages sit right outside my bedroom door, Venus' is right next to our door sitting in a corner and I sleep close to the side of the room by the door. This morning I rolled over, opened my eyes and see a little red head stretched past the door jam looking at me like, "Are you up yet?". I couldn't help but smile, got up, walked up to her and she hopped from the top of her cage to my shoulder. Talk about a great Monday morning wake up! Then my coffee pot didn't make my coffee, I left to run errands ending with a blown out tire in 99F degree weather, started work late and non of that has ruined my day, Venus started it out beautifully! I love my feathered babies!

It's great isn't it, much better than coffee! I cover cages and close curtains but Poppy is our alarm clock. She makes a funny little noise and gets louder or imitates the coffee pot, then Harry usually cries like a baby, that's the dogs cue to wait at the door while I open curtains and uncover cages. I've never been a morning person, at least not by choice.

Great stories,

They really do know how to make your day. Gizmo always pulls at my heart strings by climbing down his ladder and poking his head down to look under his cover. If I ignore him, it's all "Hello" & "what are you doing".

Cheers,

Camo

Hahaha! Tracey, your Venus is such a loveable character.

I've always felt that there's nothing like how mind-numbingly happy birds and dogs get to see their chosen people. They treat us like their personal rock stars! Lol!

How can that not brighten your day?

Stephen, I must admit Venus and Buddy can make me smile over anything. Venus is so smart, sharp and truly a character. She spends time with me every day, have you ever tried typing on a PC keyboard with a parrot on your hand? She also tries to eat the keys and the screen, can't get mad at her though, lol.

Oh man, Jasper loves to sing in the mornings haha. It's like he's trying to whisper though because it's super quiet but still wakes me up sometimes. Adorable :)

Kiwi is always up first and I have some perches on the outside of the cage. Every morning I get up and he's mumbling away sitting on these perches. I look at him and he says "hi" in his normal voice. It's like he knows I'm still sleeping and doesn't want to wake me.

My bird isnt a morning bird. She gets up when she wants to. She didnt want to wake up to go to the vet, she wanted scratches but on her perch she didnt want to move lol. So I left her alone and got everything ready, by that time she was up and ate a little before we left. That's okay though Im not a morning person....at all.

How fun our feathered kids are! I just love reading your stories ... puts a big smile on my face. Oliver runs through ALL of his vocabulary early every morning without fail as he goes in his high voice followed by a low voice (that one's a bit creepy)...and then back up to a sweet little kid-like voice. :green:
