I was working with Abby to get her to do peekaboo. She did not mind the towel, but she did not want any treats..

Here are a couple of pictures..

Abby is so adorable Ben, looks like she is having fun, keep it up.
Here's something for you to try...
Get a little loop, (big enough for her to walk through), a stick and a treat (if she wants one)
Hold the loop upright, you one side Abby the other side.
Stick you head in the center of the loop, giving her a kiss kiss, then pull back.
Alternatively hold a treat there or the stick.
Continue "playing this game" make sure you make it fun for her.
Eventually she will walk through.
Good luck

:grey: refuses to take treats any longer, I don't know why
When giving her her cereal in the morning or her yoghurt in the early evening,
she does 1 kiss kiss, turn 3 times, then high fives, then waves and now shakes my hand as well.
When doing her "talk training" at night she has never got treats.
(LoL she must concentrate)

I tried giving her sunflower seeds a few days ago while teaching her to pull her truck, she threw them back at me.
Me and my "bird brain" I realized she has never eaten sunflower seeds before

You and Mishka are so cute. Sometimes I can just picture the two of you together. It can take a long time to train our birds or a very short time. Just getting a bird used to the towel is important for them, especially at a vet. There was a very missbehaving too at my bird club meeting and the guardian wrapped a towel around the bird and it immediatley relaxed. Then they played peek a boo. Amazing!! Good luck in teaching your beautiful Abby.

Thank you Antoinette, She is almost as cute as me.. :09:

I will get a hoop and work with her on that.
What kind of treats do you suggest. I when I have offered Abby cheerios or millet she just snaps at it as if she is saying get that away from me.
I know I have only been her guardian for 2 weeks and it takes time to build trust.

Just like anything it takes time and practice..

Nothing can be cuter than a bird "sorry"
About the treats, wow there are so many, you have to try many different treats. A small piece of fruit, a nut, the list is endless. Mishka loves her plain popcorn, but at the moment. refuses any treats now.

Take is slowly, let her settle in, get familiar with her new surrounding, her new human flock.

You are quite correct it takes time, hours
Persevere, try and try again and again
One day at a time :D

Abby is so cute. I am so jealous that you can get her to do tricks for you after only having her for 2 weeks. I'm having so much trouble getting Ezzy to let me pick her up. She has taken to biting me now. I'm really mad the guy who owned her before never handled her. She is really missing out.

Anyway, congrats with the peekaboo. She looks like she is having so much fun.

That is just adorable, Abby is gorgeous! :D

Sterretjie hates towels, she fears it like nothing else so I will never be able to use something like that. Thanks Ant, I will try the hoop idea.

You really don't want to picture me training :grey:
I am forbidden to train Mishka if any of my sons friends are visiting.
I do whatever it takes, not matter how mad I look, in order for her to get it correct. When teaching her to pull her truck, I lay on the floor pulling the truck with my mouth. There must be a method in my madness, she copied me.
