I think it's that time if year. Miss Tequila is very clucky. She jumps off my shoulder and runs under furniture where it's nice and dark. Now she has started tearing ALL her newspaper up in her cage. Doesn't matter how many times I change it, she does it again to make it more nesty!!! So I've taken the paper out. Gotta clean the poop out every morning now. She doesn't do it in her big cage, just the smaller one.
Shes started tapping her beak on the bottom of the cage though. This is a new thing. Does it mean 'this is my cage'?
Shes not aggressive towards me, just super clucky lol

Wow nobody must know lol
Peppa has been a nightmare!! She is screaming, the look in her eyes when I go near her are pinning and lately when I go to get something out of her cage she tries to nip at me, I think she is very hormonal and must be that time of year. Im just waiting for it to pass. When she starts screaming, Angus then starts, so you can imagine my house. Luckily I have a big cage outside because they have time out there when they are screaming and it seems to settle them down. So I definately think its something in the air.

My male Sun, Jazz, taps the bottom of his cage as well when he is feeling hormonal.

How old is she? I've been in hormonal hell since February with Venus. She is 3.5 years old. Venus has been hormonal for 6 months now. I'm researching the hormonal timeline for female ekkies. My advice at this point, don't let her in dark spaces. Even though I've restricted her to her cage and no dark spaces, she is still trying to leave her cage to search dark places.

I've lost my relationship with her due to hormones. Very sad but I'm researching and riding it out.

My little girl is 7. I think it's just the time of year.

I'm very lucky she still loves me at the moment. Same thing though, I make sure she doesn't have any dark places, but when she's out she fly's to the ground and looks for a spot!

My girl will rip all her newspaper up and try and hide under pieces of it. It's mid winter here, so I think she's very confused!!!

That's what I mean plumsmum!!! It's already started lol. She started this about a month ago. I have a long spring ahead of me.

She was doing the whole head banging thing in front of me yesterday. Got it on video She cracks me up. She still adores me which is great, she's just clucky.
