It's going to be Dexters Hatch Day on 27th December (he's going to be 2!)

I'd like to give him a little party and make him some kind of tasty birthday cake equivalent to share with his guest (Bella).

The trouble is I'm not really sure where to start. All the recipes I've looked at so far have lots of nuts or other things that make me think it's not so great for an eclectus.

Have any of you guys got suggestions, or better still,
a tried and tested ekkie cake recipe?

Please let me know, I will welcome all suggestions!
Thanks :D

My ekkie LOVES these! I always make muffins, but I'm sure you could make a cake just as easily. It makes a lot, but freezes well. If you didn't want to add the almonds or pumpkin seeds, you could just skip those. I do add them, even for Ekko, since these are a treat and not part of his daily diet.

Wow, they look scrummy! Thanks Terry57
I really appreciate you taking the time to post a suggestion for my ekkies!

Though I'm now thinking if I can get a few suggestions from people, I might try making a variety of things for them to try. A whole little selection of goodies on paper plates - just like real party food!

Anything than can freeze and keep, is then a huge bonus, as they can have treats on other special occasions too!

Making a variety of things is a great idea! Lucky birdies!
Please make sure to post pictures! I am marking it on my calendar to remember the 27th!
