Well the vet trip went much better. This vet is closer, and actually knows what the hell she's doing. A set of X-rays later and we have at least something to go by.
The biggest problem is with Embers leg. She's a large sore on it and I initially thought is was a scrape she left alone. Now with the X-rays the vet showed me, I know there's some sort of buildup. She's contacting other bird experts as she says she hasn't seen anything like this before.
That said, we finally have pain killers for her! I honestly think that will do a lot more good than constantly agitating the wound with little regard for her comfort, as the last vet would have me do.
As well, there doesn't seam to be any respiratory issue which is a great relief. She's now wearing a cone, and due to it is having a little mobility trouble, but I think I can solve that easily with a few sturdy climbing ropes.

We'll be going back next week to get it checked on. Had to take the cone off though. It was just a biiit too big for her. She couldn't reach her food. Still, even on day two of the medication she's looking better. The pain killer is working. Which I'm very happy about!

Oh Ember! So glad you were able to find a vet more knowledgeable and understanding of her and at least you are getting some answers now. It makes a world of difference when it comes to the health of our animals we love so dearly. Sending hugs and prayers that you can finally figure out what is wrong with her and can get her the right help and treatment. Great she has something for the pain.

You have NO idea how much relief there is. Though now I have to learn how to give her medicine. It's like a fencing match. At least I managed to wrap her up today but well, any advice?

How much medicine? if it's like 0.5ml or less try a spoon and see if she won't just lick it all up slowly! That's how i gave meds to my bird after failing with a syringe. She liked the taste and thought it was a treat lol

0.3 ml. I'm planning on mixing it with some homemade apple sauce. The vet just called and recommended it. As well, the Quak that used to treat her may be given a long talking to for his incompetence. Here's hoping
