Harley is doing great and seems to be bonding with me. He steps up easy for me and lets me scratch his neck. No blood drawn from a bite on a long time. He still bites the crap out of anyone else though lol. He also comes to me to be held which is great!

He is still very shy in vocalizing. I have only heard him speak once when I was ina different room. last night he was in a jabberyy mood though. He was mimicking my tone back to me when I was laughing and singing. He was getting pretty close until my dad and brother came over then he claimed up again lol. I think the more he hears Valentine talk and the more comfortable he gets the less shy he will eventually be.

Petra, my brother's female Ekkie, seems to be learning a bit from Valentine and has said "good boy" a few times. She just came to stay with us a week or so ago so she and I have work to do on trust building. Will post updates for both of them periodically. Thanks to all of you on the forums for all your advice and willingness to share your experiences as it is very helpful!

Glad to hear that Harley is doing so well and that he's been bonding with you! Hopefully a bit of socializing will keep him from becoming a one person bird. (Still a work in progress for my Maya. She's no longer so quick to bite others, but I still can't trust her with anyone other than me.

There are notable exceptions, but quite a few ekkies seem to be closet talkers. Mine save their most exuberant yapping sprees for when I'm out of sight and they can't hear me. Bizarre.

Looking forward to your updates, StChelle!
