Wanted to show off all of Lincolns new feathers. Ignore the muddy colors in his face, he decided to bathe himself for the pictures :p
(and in the second picture he's been scratching the back of his neck a lot and I'm not really sure, gonna be taking him to the vet asap)
3rd picture, new pin feathers!!
He also needs a nail/beak trim.
For reference his entire body is usually just grey.

Heck yeah he's handsome. I'm still just trying to not get my hopes up with the feathers staying but its going so well so far!! He's incredibly crabby and bitey but I can deal with it.

Oh my gosh! He's doing so well!!!

New outfit for the summer :D

Just remember his new pin feather flakes are itchy and annoying, so just keep up the bathing / misting to help soothe the itch!

You must be so proud of him :)

Family had relatively strict orders to bathe him as much as possible preferably every other day while I was gone and from what they told me they did a good job on that. Now to just get back into the loop of doing it myself.

This probably sounds weird, but I think you'll miss his grey fluffy pajamas in a way :)

I actually will xD the grey pajamas were a defining feature of Lincoln for so long and I accepted that's just how he is and was okay with it because he was my boy and I love him but I also think he will be soon much happier fully feathered and I really really hope I can teach him to fly

I just know that I'm starting to miss Gerry's little chicken wings. He has some wing feathers now and you can't really see his little dino arms anymore. It's great that he's growing feathers, but it's kinda sad that I cant see his little arms like I used to :)

Owlet and Gerry are both on their way to flying again which is rather exciting! Let's hope we both get to celebrate flying our boys soon (fingers crossed)

I'm sorry for the quality, or lack there of of the videos. Youtube kills it for some reason?
Anyways, lots and lots of pin feathers. poor boy must be so itchy.

Bonus video of his really deep "hello" that managed to scare my brother's girlfriend while she was taking care of him while I was on my trip. She was home alone and just hears THAT and thinks someone has broken in x'D

His pajamas will definitely be missed. Still cautiously optimistic about feathers even staying. He's made a lot of progress compared to the past but it still hasn't been long since I got him.

The pics and vids are nothing short of amazing! Please tell Lincoln how incredibly proud I am of him! Wow!

The story of your brother's girlfriend, combined with actually hearing Lincoln's deep hello, had me laughing so hard! Picturing that was hilarious!

And while you're understandably nervous about whether he'll keep these feathers or not, keep in mind that the progress he's made is a definite sign that you are on the right track with him. And that holds even if he were to end up plucking those feathers again. See, once plucking begins, it becomes a deeply ingrained habit. So much so that they continue plucking long after the original cause has gone away. So if something you are doing has been significant enough to interrupt that habit - if even for a little bit - then you are doing an amazing job!

***As a side note, anyone who isn't seeing the kind of results that Lincoln and Violet_Diva's Gerry are showing should not take it as them necessarily not doing the right thing. Fact is, for some birds the habit is more deeply ingrained than others. Also, there are a great many causes of plucking that can complicate the process... such as hormonal plucking. It just so happens that these two ekkie parronts are fortunate enough to be getting palpable, observable signs that they are doing the right thing by their birds is all.
