I feed my ekkies raw veggies, but cook sweet potatoes and squash. Does anyone serve it raw? Mine are not great veggie eaters, but they are new to me so I cam going to keep giving it to them. Hopefully they will catch on. They were on a pretty high fat diet before I got them so I am trying to switch them over to a lower fat diet. One chews feathers, the other plucks his neck.

Usually, it is what your bird likes. My Rosie much prefers her vegies cooked. Most especially into a soft mash.

Raw is fine. Mine prefer it cooked and served warm with cinnamon! LOL! They are spoiled.

OK, I got my female to eat it raw in a seven layer salad - I picked the pieces and she ate them out of my hand. I think she's eating it out of the salad now too. Nothing doing for my male, but he will eat it mashed with brown rice. YUM!

I could be wrong, but I believe that I read somewhere that the sweet potato needs to be cooked for the birds to get the nutrient value out of it.

My baby seems to love the cooked veggies which I feed her warm. I usually do a mix of two or three warm veggies and a few pieces of cold fruit. She seems to go for the fruit first and then the veggies. She gets squash all over her face which I have to wipe off when the bowl is empty.
