Feeding pellets during vacation?

I’m strongly considering getting an Eclectus, but I travel or go in vacation a few times a year and I’m worried about their diet while I’m away. Is it ok to feed them pellets for a week or two a couple of times a year? This would make it much easier to find someone who can easily care for it while I’m gone.

Thanks for your advice!

Develop a container of the proper dry foods for your Eclectus. Have separately, the veggies that you provide. Place both groups in the fridge.

The health of you Eclectus comes first.

So it’s not ok for them to eat pellets for a few days a couple times a year?

due to Ekkie's digestive system feeding them pellets can give them so real health issues with their livers and what-not. Some get fed pellets daily and show no issues (though they often have shorter life spans) others could eat pellets for just one meal and develop toe tapping and wing flipping almost instantly.

If you were to have someone come over why would it be so much more for them to cut up some fruit and veg? Not exactly the most arduous task on the planet.

Also not to be 'that' guy but you may possibly have to sacrifice some vacations for the sake of them. Unfortunately part of the responsibility of owning any pet is having to give up on some of the stuff you want for their sake. Some people here just don't go on vacation anymore because they don't want to leave their parrot
