Hello Everyone
My female eclectus age 3.5 years just laid an egg! We went out for a few hours tonight and came home about 10:00 p.m. and low and behold there is a large white egg at the bottom of the cage! I left a post a few days ago stating that she has tried to mate with my son and I for the past month or two--now we know why! Although as of tonight she is still trying to mate with me ( even after the egg laying ).
I know not to touch the egg for 28 days and then to remove it; also thankfully I have a very intelligent and knowledgeable "bird guy" who we --bought her from (Pretty Birds in Millvale, Pa -go Don you rock buddy!!) who I will consult with in the morning

Don't touch the egg just in case. But if there is no male in with the bird the egg is probably unfertilized and you have nothing to worry about but leave it just incase. My female parakeets lay eggs all the time but they are never fertile.:D hope this helps
