the sequel to my "not good" thread.

If you followed that thread you know I got a pak-o-bird. I introduced it to Lincoln the following day and he was fine, but I FINALLY got to actually use it today. I might add some vet tape to the perch it comes with as it's a tad slipper for Lincoln but that's okay. He was really confused with it at first, giving it a good look around.

I love that I can easily buckle it into my car so it doesn't go sliding around. And it's quiet! No more clunky cage that rattles when the car is on.

So, now that I finally have a carrier that I don't hate, I took him to work with me. I know some of you probably wouldn't approve but it's a safe environment and I know all birds there are healthy and good. He even made a friend today. We have a young eclectus named Eliott who is probably the most social eclectus you will find. He just LOVES other birds and people. And Lincoln seems to get along with him just fine. We introduced them and I always have Lincoln an easy out to move away from Eliott and disengage from the situation but he always stayed. Near the end as he started to settle in he even began to play back with Eliott.

"He's behind me isn't he?"

"oh s***"

In other new his feathers quality hasn't changed in the past couple days, meaning it hasn't gotten worse. Which is good. I'm trying to hang out with him as MUCH as possible and cater to his every needs constantly. It's probably instilling bad habits because if he screams, I come calling. But honestly? oh well. I can take some screaming if it keeps him happy.

Here's a video of Lincoln and Eliott.

Great update! Lincoln certainly did a once-over on his pak-o-bird ( I've been kicking the idea around on getting Beebs one). And it looks like Lincoln had a great outing and making a new friend:D I just love it when Amy and Salty get together ( both "boys" also ) and they do the exact thing Lincoln and Elliot were doing :18:

Thanks for the update/pictures!

Love the pics and video in this thread! So Lincoln had a great day, yesterday. He got a new and improved carrier, enjoyed a nice car ride, got to roll with you for the day, and made a new friend! All in all, outstanding!

I'm also happy to hear that there hasn't been any further plucking. Beautiful! Please keep Sir Lincoln's updates coming.

Oh, question. Do those side flap coverings on the Pak-O-Bird lift to reveal mesh?

yup, maybe I'll make a more detailed video listing all the features of the pak-o-bird because honestly I was blown away. It has pretty much everything you could want.

I love the pictures! And your birds look great!

I also have the pak-o-bird and it was a costly, but very good purchase.

My boy hates his harness, so we also use it for walks. It's quite big on me but comfortable to carry.

I'd install the bowls, even if you don't use them They provide a place to stabilize oneself when bouncing around in the Pak.

Took him to work again today and he just seemed really happy. Maybe he just needs a friend. I really want a 2nd parrot as is, I'm just waiting for the right opportunity really.

So that is a "medium/large" POB? It may be too large for BB. It would be great to take him places and get him use to the out doors and new people, and let him see why Amy is so happy when she comes home after an outing with me ;)
Who knows, maybe he'd groove on it so much I could take BOTH Fid's out on an adventure, now THAT would be so cool!!!!

Jim

it's the medium one, I read it was suitable for eclectus and eclectus sized parrots

The Celltei website recommends a small or medium for a cockatiel.

All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
I got close to a real-life p-o-b yesterady (shop-visit in Den Haag)--- they are astonishingly well made (as you know I have the cheaper alternative on a try-out) it is a pitty they cost more than any of my parrots ever did or I would have walked out the store with one!

So... now I am jealous (in a good way)!
Nice going Lincoln! :D

He- you've weighed the pro's and con's about visiting other birds and you are doing so as responsible as you possibly can-- and since you also shared these wonderfull pictures of the meet-and-greet, how can I object? :)
Every bird deserves a social life (unless they prefer not to of course) and how can you guys meet a truely compatible bird if he does not go out dating?
