Sonny is 1 yr old next week and has logged more than 125 hours flying outside. The average time away is about a hour and the longest was 11 hours. Mostly he flies within 300 metres/yards of our place and lands back in one of the trees overlooking our place. He joins the rainbow lories in the trees who all know him as he is in a cage close to where they eat each morning and afternoon. I've learnt to let him out after the lories feed only in the late afternoon. He only goes in the cage when the lories feed and the rest of the time he is free in the house. He sleeps in a box that I made at night which is surrounded by toys etc.

In the last couple of weeks he has been seen flying with some galahs that are flocking. He was leading about 50 the other day as they circled around our place. This is the first time I've seen him in the lead, usually he will be with them off to one side. I think he has been accepted by them for some reason, maybe some crazy relative from up North Queensland. I allow him out 3 or 4 times a week depending on the wind and how jittery the other birds are, lots of raptors here in Oz. He's been chased twice that I know of but only by magpies. John

Won't be easy Jim. I'll try next time he's out. That's tomorrow as he went out yesterday. Should be able to get him sitting in a tree at least, then have to figure out how to post a pic or video on here. !!! I get very nervous when he's out but he really looks forward to it. I allow him 4 times a week, not every day. Doubt that I could catch him flying on my phone camera.
