My male intimidates my female...

I am seriously looking for a new home for my male Red-sided eclectus, Kiwi. He is being seriously mean to my female, a Solomon Island, and has even bitten off one of her toes. She is a bundle of nerves, and is losing feathers. I keep them separated when I am not around. I squirt him with water when he is mean to her, but he must like it cuz it doesn't seem to do any good.

He is very good to men, and has never shown any agressive behaviour to me or any of my male friends or relatives. I think he is jealous. He (or she, for that matter) doesn't seem to like my wife.

Any suggestions on how to help them get along, and let Ruby grow back her beautiful feathers? They used to get along, and I even considered breeding them. Had a nice nest box. She laid three eggs total, all sterile, so I took out the nest box. Seems they won't even do the nasty.

My SIL breeds parrots and they need to bond (share food bowl without bickering and regurgitate food to one another) before you present the nest box. It sounds like your male is hormonal and she is not accepting him. Parrots beak one another's toes to get their attention. Ekkies are known for biting people's toes too.
You can put them in separate cages and put them in their own sleep cage, covered so they get 10-12 quiet uninterrupted hours of sleep. This will tame down your male's agression. Your poor girl - is she plucking her feathers? If so, you want to get her calmed down and feeling safe as soon as possible so the plucking does not become a habit. I would really get her into her own cage in a separate room - asap. In the meantime can you get your hands on a piece of citrus tree, apple tree, eucalyptus tree branch or other safe branch for a second perch to give them a little breathing room. I hope this helps.
