Hi.
icon_yaya.gif

It is the second time that I am reading this so it is clearly bothering you and I can understand why.;) Do you have a different avian vet that can perhaps take a look? Is there any possibility that you can take a photo and show us exactly what you are talking about?

its not really bothering me shes had it since she was a baby, but i have seen 2 female eclectus in a pet shop and had a look and inside there mouth was pink tongue which she has and dark, where my bird has pink tongue, dark and yellow. we dont have any bird vets near us the closest is over a hour away and is only there once a week all the others are in melbourne about 4 hours away

In that case if it has been yellow for 18 months and she showed no signs of illness then I dont think it is something to worry about.

Try and post a photo so that your eclectus can be the first recorded.;)

To ease your mind Mygirl it is perfectly normal for a female eclectus to have the yellow coloring in her mouth. They all are the same.

she had a few health problems when we first got her, she had a sinus infection because the people we brought her from were not clean at all and they had hacked her wings not just her flight feathers her whole wings our vet said he thinks it was the stress from that, that caused the sinus. she is not hand raised and he said we had basically wasted our money on a very sick bird as she was wild.
we proved him wrong with lots and lots of time and love shes more tame than any female he has ever seen, completely toilet trained and talkative and totally in love with MY husband lol
we clip her wings now as we have a dog as well she lets me do it with no stress we make it a game for her and she gets bicky afterwards

Lighting at the pet shop may cause the color to look different. Anytime you need to check actual color you need to use a pure white florescent lighting.
