Hey guys im new to this forums, ive recently discovered somesomething wrong with my male ekky hes about 9months old, but ive recently noticed hes got like a bumpy thing from his stomach near inbetween his legs, its sort of crusty i feel like it maybe be hurting him but im not sure if he's always had it or if its normal or very bad. i just realised it yesterday and havnt found any details about it online.

i put him on his back for abit to look at it, he didnt like being put on his back so i didnt have time to take a picture, let me know should i take a picture, is this normal? or should i go to the vet, last time i was in the vet was because the xray showed he had eaten some metal pieces and almost died, it set me back alot of money and honestly i dont mind spending money on my pets but i cant afford another vet trip, please what are your advice.

he seems happy talkactive and very active, ive seen him before when he was sick and it looked completely different. he looked like he was going to die at any moment, always asleep, eyes closed, not eating moving or making sound. now hes much better and its been acouple weeks since his recovery. hoping everything is good

Wow, I'm amazed you managed to get such clear pictures. I would have lost a hand and some fingers if I'd tried that with my boys.

I have no idea what it is, if it's moveable could is perhaps be some poop that's clinging to his vent and dried?

Beyond that... it would have to be something not normal and therefore in need of a Vet to look at it. If your lucky a basic exam will reveal the problem and the Vet will have some simple, easy solution and you won't be out a fortune. If you're not lucky... then at least you can make an informed choice about what you can afford to spend/how you can get the money.

Good luck!

Sorry I don’t know what that is either, I agree though that a trip to the vet is in order. Best to go sooner rather than later when treatment may end up being more invasive and more costly if the condition is allowed to continue. You can enquire whether your clinic can set up a payment plan if money is tight.

Your picture are great. But this is stumping me , I'm not sure what is going on......
Definitely time to see the vet.... And please keep us updated so we learn , and to help others.
I hope this is something easy to fix, and your baby gets well quickly.

the options I’ve seen all require a vet care ASAP.

Armchair vetting here: I saw something very similar on tv on an African grey (as the statement practically screams, take this with a grain of salt, consult a vet). There were a range of Differentials, varying from vitamin deficiency to a sarcoma (cancer) to self mutilation. They will likely need to do a biopsy.

Can you tell us about his diet?

I had called up the vets they all referred me to my current avian vet, which is in the city last visit cost me $700 i didnt mind because i could afford it then.

now they said its going to cost $450 just to check him out and if he needs anything ontop is will cost extra. honestly i dont have that kind of money right now, i might have to get a loan also theyre closed tomorrow so is there anything i can do in the meantime to make it easy on him. i heard putting white vinegar on it will help it go back in but im not sure enough to try it, any advice?

you don’t know what IT is, so how could you have heard vinegar will cure IT?

Repeating my question: can you tell us about the diet?

I know vet bills can get expensive, it really sucks :( Why not put it on a credit card?

i dont knkw what it is 100% but what ive been told on the forums and abit of research its saying its a prolapse vent, claocal vent.

He's a very calm and loving bird, never ever bites anyone and always likes a tickle and a hug. but abit of research says i shouldnt bond with him anymore so that he can heal when hes not attached to me. apperently he sees me as a parent
