Would you give a toy to your other bird if the original bird who had it didn't play with it? I'm getting a new Eclectus so I'm going through what we have and what we need and I have some toys that my Quaker was never interested in so I'm thinking I'll see if my new Eclectus likes them....after keeping them separated for awhile. They were in the cage with him for awhile but he ignored them. FYI the breeder is taking the new bird to the vet also before I get her for the warranty.
Thanks:rainbow1:

I would run the toys through the dishwasher first if they can be.
I even clean my rope perches that way.

I clean my perches and toys with hot water and a little vinegar. Soap is toxic for birds and since they chew everything, vinegar is safer to use than soap or any other disinfectant unless it is specially made for birds.

I use water and vinegar mixture to clean their cages too. It's great for dried on droppings.
