Mine always chooses the highest perch in the cage to sleep on. He doesn't spend time there during the day, but as soon as it's dark, he goes right to that spot for the night. He wouldn't pay any attention to a bed, other than maybe to chew it up. If he did, I think it would likely be a mess, covered in poop by the morning.

How is your lovely KyKy doing?

If mine naps in his cage itā€™s always on the highest perch. But overnight heā€™s in a separate cage/carrier in a quiet part of the house. There is only a perch and water bowl in that cage.

Keke (I had misspelled her name early on) is doing great. We finally got her off the chain - she is now the apex predator (according to her, the queen!) of our primary villa living space. She gets to fly around as she wants, pretty much a miniature pterodactyl.

She is loud, chatty, bossy and has to be right in the middle of whatever is happening. Did I mention she is loud!

She does not like to go to bed - she sleeps on the highest spot in the space, a Balinese room divider that stands next to her cage. I asked cuz she just perched on top all night. Maybe a little bed [emoji3]l. She does not enter the cage, only the top - one of her playgrounds.

We just laugh from morning to night at her antics! Thanks for asking!

Awww, thank you for the update. She's gorgeous, and sounds every bit like a female Ekkie. Queen of the roost. :) So glad she's doing well!

I love all yiur pictures.

But this metal on the divider doesn't look safe. Just mouthing metal can lead to heavy metal poisoning. .

We removed it from her space after a couple days and replaced it with a play stand we built.

A pet bed is most likely not a good choice for a bird for a few reasons - one, perches are much more natural to them as they would normally sleep high up in the trees for safety. Two, pet beds are made of fibers that, if chewed up and ingested, would get stuck in your bird's digestive tract and could cause some serious harm. And three, a lot of birds (especially females) would use this soft, warm place as a breeding group (no pun intended) for hormones! A perch is definitely the best option :) she's so cute and silly! I hope to adopt an ekkie of my own someday!!

I figured as much, just wanted to make sure. A spoiled pampered bird is still a loud, bossy prima donna bird [emoji16]
