It’s been 6 days since bringing JoJo home. She LLLOOOVVVEEESSS my Husband, keeps trying to eat me. My Husband is concerned but I told him think about it, I put her in the travel cage, took her on a 10 hour trip to a new house with two loud birds and out of the only environment. I’ve been encouraging him to interact with her and he has. Today she let him touch and scratch her head, me 2 seconds and bite! So far I’ve been bitten 10 times, 5 drawn blood. She is extremely hormonal too so we are taking day by day. Right now she’s saying her name, JoJo, hello, and hi JoJo talking to me. Progress little by little. Here my jelly moment from today.

This is actually quite impressive. Ekkies in general don't much go for head scritches. Messes with "the doo" you know. :) Don't get too discouraged if she's not into being handled. It's quite common for them to not be snuggly birds. Many prefer to sit facing you and read your facial expressions. My first Ekkie, Patches, never wanted to even sit on my shoulder, always on my forearm facing me. He was happiest like that, studying me always. Best way I can describe it, It's really like they look into your eyes, and see YOU, right down to your soul, if that makes sense.

Well, all I can say is that are TWO pretty fine "doos" going on there.
Great photo!

First, let me just say how great it is to see you hereabouts again, my friend! You've been dearly missed!

So your husband won the 'favorites' lottery this time around, huh? JoJo seems such a sweetheart. And don't worry, I bet you'll charm your way through her wall... eventually. You now how stubborn those divas can be, but persistence wins through every time.

How have you been?

Nothing like a win for the guy! If she is putting the sweet on him, its a stand back and watch the lady swoon him!

She will soften to your heart, its just takes time in Parrot World!

And, yes; Welcome Back Good Friend!!!

Just getting caught up on your return with 5yo little JoJo. So glad that you brought her home to a better life. How is she doing now, a week since your last post? Hope all is well and that she is eating better by now. :)

She is a red devil!!!!!! My husband, she is all over and loves. He can touch her and is giving her love. So the day we met her she was my bestie but that changed to my husband. After, no it’s all about Husband. I am her feeder and water girl, she allows that. We are on 14 days right now. Still working with her.

LOL...gotta love those little red devils. Ellie was my little gal until we adopted Bertie 1 1/2 years ago. She has always spent time with both of us. However, Bertie is attached to me and Ellie happily goes to hubby and allows me to be her humble servant as needed.:D
