Gross things your fids caused you to do

I'll go first. This is why you shouldn't eat in the dark lol.

I picked up what I thought was a bit of food I dropped and put it in my mouth.

I immediately noticed something was wrong. I spit it out and turned on the light.

I bet someone is already thinking what it was.

Yep.

It was

Bird poop

Re: Gross things your fids caused you to do

I just go around wiping fresh poops off cage skirts/perches or other spots with my fingers like ALL the time. To me it's easier if I see a poop that would be hard to scub off later to just get that sucker now with my finger and wash it off instead of use a wet wipe or other paper products. I've even caught a wayward poop in my hands if it was going to end up on the carpet or somewhere else unsavory. Am I the only one?

Nope definitely not I have bit the bullet and caught the odd poop. Even the mornings monster when she flew off instead of going potty on her papers that was pretty gross but not as bad as eating it. May I ask what did it taste like?

Poopcatching is a sport (my lower back is not playing nice these days, lol, I sound like a granny!) but everything I catch before it hits the floor... I do not need to scoop up later.

And lets be honest: warm poop feels less yucky than cold
(to me anyway)

Re: Gross things your fids caused you to do

I'm a poop catcher, guilty as charged. I tend to really get odd looks from non-bird people when I reach over and catch a poop mid conversation without a pause. Would you rather I interrupt our conversation to go in the other room, get wipes, and get down on the floor to wipe it out of the carpet while you watch?

Re: Gross things your fids caused you to do

Yes, Rb poop is a big part of my lifestyle. Never ate it, to my knowledge but I'm sure I
ingest part or parcel now and then. I have a friend who ate cockatiel poop once and said it tasted like cardboard or paper, like when you bite open a box of candy or bite a tag off of a small item after you purchase it.

In my thinking, warm poop is equally gross to cold poop.

Poop, poop, poop.

To this tune...
Everybody now!

Yes, and I reiterate, it is all about the poo.

Should start a thread "Poo Chronicles."

A great idea! We could share images of our "bird clothes" permanently scarred by holes, missing buttons, and yes, poo stains!

Re: Gross things your fids caused you to do

I confess, I come home from work on put on my "poop clothes". My two youngest have no qualms about pooping on me, so until they are trained I wear the same T-shirt for 2-3 days. My laundry runneth over otherwise.
