Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
Hi All

This is a game for the true Parrot nerds who love Parrots and love data.

Go to the ebird website. (you may need to register)

https://ebird.org/species/whcpar/

Then think of your favourite parrot genera or any parrot genera that you like and note down the number of observations made for all the species in that genera and sort it down from highest to lowest, ie. the species most commonly seen in the wild to the one least commonly seen.

For example I have taken Pionus

Common name Scientific name Total Observation
Blue-headed Parrot Pionus menstruus 41966
White -crowned Parrot Pionus senilis 35565
Scaly-headed Parrot Pionus maxmiliani 13526
Bronze-winged Parrot Pionus chalcopterus 11409
Red-billed Parrot Pionus sordidus 8730
Plum-crowned Parrot Pionus tumultuosus 3757
Dusky Parrot Pionus fuscus 1515

cheers

I thougt the same :D There are different classifications of amazons, generally we have 30+ species of them! :D (I am interest in parrot taxonomy and a parrot genus with more species doesn't exist:D)

Yes Amazona is highest but Pyrrhura comes close. But the pet keeping circle is familiar only with a handful, mostly GCCs , Maroon bellied and occasionally others- don't even know which is the 3 or 4 common one.

I know, Pyrrhura is on 2nd place but about 7 species less than amazons (it depents from classification again). This is why I didn't chose them to the game:D

I'm also unsure if the orange ball on the lower-right of the photo is a Conure's head or a leaf.

I just learned that Hyacinth macaws, and some others called Macaw are a different genus from the ones below... I also learned of Macaws I'd never seen or heard of (like the Blue throated macaw) who are just stunning! So sad the numbers were so low. :(

Scarlet Macaw, Ara macao, 27,373
Chestnut Fronted Macaw / Severe Macaw, Ara severus, 17,817
Blue and Yellow Macaw, Ara ararauna, 16,203
Green Wing Macaw / Red And Green Macaw, Ara chloropterus 9,396
Great Green Macaw / Buffon's Macaw, Ara ambiguus, 5,435
Military Macaw, Ara militarus, 4,158
Blue Throated Macaw, Ara glaucogularis, 215
Red-fronted Macaw, Ara rubrogenys, 179

I've just checked that extinct Cuban macaw has one observation on eBird (interesting when :D)

How about Carolina Parakeet, extint in wild since 1910.
@Squeekmouse: indeed it's very sad the numbers are soooo low.
With some species, there are much more birds in captivity than in their natural habitat :(

Putting the common names in bold makes it more beautiful. Thank you!

Scarlet Macaws have more observations because of the Central American Population. But if you filter for a specific country where all three main large macaws are present like Peru or Brazil - Scarlets, Red and Green and Blue and Yellow have similar numbers.
