You just need to bring him to your vet for a health checkup and test for serious illness. Different vets and different areas charges different so I couldn't tell you what they would charge in your area. Give a Avian vet a call in your area and ask them.

Birds generallly do not get shots. The avain vet visit will consist of an exam all over, droppings will be checked under a microscope. Usually there is no blood drawn on a young bird unless symptoms are presenting. Usual bill for a wellness exam here in Md. is just over $100.

In Central PA the wellness vist/check ran $84 for 1st time & $65 for each additional exam. I take my Amazon 3 x a year to check beak, nails, weight, etc. Since this was my first bird I didn't want to chance not doing everything in my power to give him a long, happy, healthy life. My vet also gave me a bunch of pamphlets with great information on everything from recipes for cooking healthy diet to exercise & behavior issues. I would have been lost without them! Thanks Dr. Wells!
