I have been thinking of this, do you worming BHC (well parrots in general)? I have read that worming could kill your parrot, so now I am worried. Or do I worm them on the advise of the Avian Vet? sorry for questions.

If an inside bird with no exposure to outside then worming is usually not an issue,(unless new from breeder). Carry a fresh sample of poo in ziplock to vet. Basic info; there are 3 different types of worms needing 3 different treatments. The larger round worms can damage the GI tract if killed outright and need to be treated correctly. Do not medicate your birds without advice from vet,not forum members.

Thanks, I thought to ask, as I know you have to worm dogs, so I wasnt sure, about parrots/birds. She stays inside, the only time she goes outside is to go to the vets. I havent wormed her, I have no idea if the breeder before us did. Will speak to the vet about this, when I take Peaches there again.

I'd carry some fresh poo when you go,save you an extra trip.

I have to agree with Henpecked. The vet will test the poop and if anything is found, will be able to advise you regarding any treatment.

I only regularly de-worm my horses. As they live outside and graze off the ground, it must be done. As for dogs, the only one who ever had worm issues was my male Dalmatian. He would periodically get whip worms, even though my other dogs never did. The vet said some dogs are like that.
