sneezing

Puck has been sneezing several times a day for the last few days. There is no discharge, and he's behaving normally.

I've been doing some work on my mom's house, including taking out really old, allergy-filled carpet. I sneezed a lot those days, and had a lot of congestion, even with a dust mask. Puck was in the other room, but I suppose he could have gotten some dust. I don't think he normally sneezes this much, but it's entirely possible that I could have just started to notice it when my allergies started to act up.

What do you guys think? Should I take him in to the vet, or should I not worry? He's not acting any differently, just sneezes a few times a day. He just sneezes once, and doesn't do it again for a while. It could be allergies, but worst case scenario is a probably sinus infection or a cold, but again, there is no discharge.

Just a thought Remy, could it be possible she is mimicing you when you were sneezing. It's not unheard of. They are also very good at copying a cough.

I know my parrots sometimes sneeze when the weather is to dry or to damp.

Remy only you know your girl & i am sure if you noticed any change in her behavior, however small you would be off to the Vets.

As long as there is no discharge, and he is acting normally, I wouldn't be worried. My conure will sneeze sometimes to get my attention. Then when I look, she will stretch for me.

I swear Pete will sneeze from his own dander.

Mr. Precious has been sneezing too. I thought it was from the dry heat but now I see he is molting & there is down & dust everywhere. I'm showering him daily but everytime he moves there is dander & down. Like yours, there is no discharge & all seems well. I will have to start vacuuming twice a day now.

Pete is also molting and when he flaps his wings, little downy feathers go flying, and I see some dust go up in the air, lol! In fact he needs a shower today. I don't yet have an attachment for the blow dryer (dummy me totally forgot about that when I went shopping yesterday). So I've had to blow dry him in his cage to keep him from sticking his beak in the nozzle and getting burned. I bet Merlin isn't too happy to see that blow dryer though. We'll see how it goes.

Kazi sneezes occasionally too, but to be honest we're not the greatest house keepers in the world so it's a little dusty around here. The air is also very dry. The vet says he's fine and nothing's amiss so unless he starts going off his food or otherwise acting strangely I'm calling it nothing to worry about.

I think I'll just keep and eye on him and see if what happens. I only saw him sneeze twice today, which is less than before (we were only separated for about 4 hours today). I started noticing it around the time we took out the scary old carpet, which made my allergies flare up like crazy for a few days.

I've taken him with me to the hardware store three times this week. Everyone likes him there (except for one girl who is afraid of birds), and he likes the echo. He's not crazy about the ceiling fan section though, haha. One man whistled at him as he walked by, and they kept whistling back and forth after the man walked out of sight. It was cute.

Well, I haven't heard any sneezing in a couple days. I think it was the dust. He must have gotten some, even though he was in another room. I guess I'll have to keep him farther away from it.

I, on the other hand, am sneezing a lot because I caught that cold going around. D:
