I am wondering if using my oven at 425 or 450 will be dangerous for the birds. I like to cook pizzas on ceramic stones in the oven and I usually do this at these temps. I am concerned if the oven will emmit fumes at this heat to harm my birds. I have been cooking at lower temps sometimes using the convection setting to try and mimic the higher temp however haven't cooked on this temp out of fear. I am wondering if I am being overly cautious and that it would be alright to cook at this heat.

Not to be sarcastic, but I think not being able to turn your oven on over 400 degrees would kind of make it impossible to own birds :)

Chemical fumes from cleaners are bad, and of course intense smoke. But I make fresh pizza from scratch all the time!

The way i understand it , 500 F is the temp when nonstick ,Teflon etc. start to "melt" ,give off harmful fumes. If your oven is to 450 F then parts of your oven are hotter than that.Have you tried cooking pizza on the "Big Green Egg"? (Ceramic Grill), i can get mine to 700 F no problem.

Actually at 450 degrees components of different non stick pans as well as certain ceramics start to break down and release harmful fumes. I am just wondering if the inside of the oven works in the same way.
