I just dont understand people sometimes. I was slicing some avocado the other day and it reminded me of this incredibly stupid cockatiel owner I met a long time ago.
She was complaining about her bird being loud and I asked what kind and told her I had a bunch of birds. We got talking about stuff they shouldn't eat when she mentioned how much her bird loved soda ( !!! )
Anyways, I went through the list and when I got to avocado she got very excited saying she loved avocado and hadn't had any in a very long time. I agreed that it was good and she was like hey I'll bet the bird would like it. I explained, AGAIN, that it was actually poisonous and she said oh.. well I bet he'd really like it though. I said well it won't matter much if he likes it because he'll be dead after he eats it since it's poisonous. She said oooh, well I guess I better only give him a really small piece...
At this point I just said I hoped she wouldn't feed him anything poisonous, suggested she get a book on bird care and walked away, wishing I hadn't even mentioned the word avocado, or spoken to her in the first place.
She wasn't kidding.. she was dead serious, this woman appeared to be the origin of all blonde jokes.

a Brown-headed poicephalus parrot named Tucker!
I had a lady call the store today and she just wanted to "check" that it would be okay to put her sulphur crested cockatoo in an octagon AQUARIUM and would pine shavings be okay on the floor of the aquarium???
I had a small heart attack and then spent 20 minutes explaining just why that would be an extremely horrible idea.

Some people!!!!!!:eek::mad::eek:

Guys, what we need to understand is that we all have the ability to be stupid in our own ways ... but when you work in the retail service (in any shape, way, or form) you think you have seen everything you can ... Some people just don't get it, no matter how hard you try .. .

My boyfriend owns a hardware store and he has actually had people come in asking if he sells fruit. Yah- right there on the wall next to the hammers, buddy!

Oh my some people are, well Stupid just doesn't even cut it. I think someone needs to give these people a smack in the head to knock some sense into them. Do people really lack common sense this much?

OHH my favorite was one of my students (SHE is the origin of all dumb blonde jokes) And I quote:
Her: So salt attracts light, right?
Me: ...Wait, what?
Her: No, I'm so serious. Because you get a better tan at the beach than you do at a pool. It's 'cause of all the salt in the ocean.
Me: ...Nnnno.
Her: Oh my god, I'm so right.
Me: No, no you're not.
Her: I'm so right, you don't even know.
I'm so glad that people of her generation will someday rule the world... The best was HOW she said it. She did the trademark hair flip when she said "I'm so right, you don't even know". I had to leave the room because I was going to die laughing. Some people's kids...
