Timing of the first vet visit

I know it is important to take the bird to the vet very shortly after taking it home, but what is the appropriate timing? I don't want to scare the poor thing to death. The place where I am looking to acquire my bird from has a health guarantee so long as the bird is seen within 5 days. Advice on this is much appreciated.

I have taken both of mine within the first 3 days at home! I would plan on a specific take home date and then make an appointment with the vet for the same date. That way you can knock it all out in one day. The bird will be just fine. Speak gently and show love. Once the vet is done with the bird, you can be the one to console it and be the one who provides safety and security.

Personally I'd say the same day is best, get it all over and done with before your get your baby home in it's new cage etc. Then it's stability from the get go as soon as it's in it's home. :)

I thought it might be easier the same day, but I wanted to get some confirmation before I did that.
