Wheatley - 4 year old Green Cheek Conure
My green cheek conure's cere started looking slightly dry the other day. I've been trying to encourage him to bathe more to keep his skin moisturizer, but he only bathes when he feels like it. Is there some kind of bird safe cream or oil I could put on it to help? He had a little bruise on his cere the other week from fighting with a toy, and I think the healing process made some of the skin a little dry, and I thought maybe some moisturizer would help. Any suggestions?

you might try a little coconut oil.... I use organic ,cold pressed coconut oil. it's a great moisturizer. I also give my fids a little on a spoon to eat a few times a week . It's really good for them.

my pineapple has the same issue.. make sure you dont have any rope toys that can shred. my conure currently has a piece of rope stuck deep under a flake.

I second the coconut oil. I don't think our birds get enough oil because of their mainly pellet diet. I give mine coconut oil at least 3 times a week. He just eats it off the spoon 3 or 4 bites.
